

Mariane Pearl, Executive Producer
Mariane Pearl is an award winning journalist and writer. Pearl has traveled to places as diverse as the US and the Middle East, reporting and producing documentaries on the sensitive issues surrounding the application of genetic technology to contemporary challenges. In Paris, Pearl covered immigration and identity issues, using her daily radio program that she developed, produced and hosted for Radio France International to explore issues of society, identity and politics.
Her book, A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Daniel Pearl received international praise and was translated into 15 languages. In 2007, it was released as a major feature film, which garnered tremendous critical acclaim. Her second book, In Search of Hope, is a collection of profiles of extraordinary women around the world. These first appeared in Glamour magazine, the largest circulating women's magazine in the world, and focused on women who are role models in the way they use their own lives to transform their environment. Pearl is also a contributor to publications such as The New York Times, The Sunday Times and Conde Nast Traveler.
In the last year alone she has been recognized by a National Headliners Award for magazine writing, the Time Warner Woman of The Year Award, a White House Project award, an AWRT (American Women in Radio and Television) award, the Internews Award for Excellence in International Reporting, a Vital Voices award, an El Mundo editorial award in Spain, and the Prix "Vérité" in France for excellence in non fiction writing.
